Chocolate City’s budding artist Ajogwu Boluwatife popularly known as Major AJ has returned with his first single of the year “MY OWN” featuring Africa’s finest hip-hop singer & songwriter Blaqbonez. This single is a follow up from the successful release of debut  project “Retroverse EP”. 

Major AJ, known for his bars-laden covers and viral moments, has returned as BadBoyMajor with the release of “My Own.” Produced by top music producer Damie.

The mid-tempo tune expresses AJ’s disappointment in the transactional nature of love in most climes. The song uses the metaphorical city of Lagos as the hub of his disappointment. 

Major AJ and Blaqbonez deliver a sonically impressive track on “My Own,” where Blaqbonez’s rap style blends with Major Aj’s sweetened voice to convey their #NoLoveInLagos message. The song’s heavy lyrics in Blaqbonez’s prominent “sex over love style” add spice to the song, making it a soon-to-be anthem. Listen Here
