In celebration of the incredible legacy that is Davido’s Career, TXT ranks the Top 20 Davido songs of all time.

Note: Only songs featuring Davido as a lead artiste were considered for this list. Features for other artists and producers were not factored in this article.

20. “Risky”

On the Popcaan assisted track, Davido turns his infamous 2013 freestyle into a slow burner. Talk about making lemons into lemonade. We absolutely stan!

19. “Assurance”

This wasn’t just a song, it was a moment for Nigerian pop culture. Who would’ve thought that buying a Porsche for your fiance could be a great romantic gesture and a great marketing strategy?
Pay attention kids. O.B.O is teaching.

18. “Dodo”

Quite frankly, this song deserved better. If Wizkid’s got “On Top Your Matter”, and Tiwa Savage has “My Darling”, Davido’s got “Dodo”. Perfect for a Nigerian first dance, this song was MADE for wedding playlists.

17. “Ekuro”

The follow-up single to 2011’s smash hit, “Dami Duro”, this Afropop jam is an absolute classic! Songs like this introduced us to Davido and for that, hold a special place in our hearts.

16. “Wonder Woman”

Another song that deserved way more, this High life ballad was incredibly beautiful. An ode to strong women, we absolutely approve of this beauty. A standout record in Davido’s vast discography.

15. “Nwa Baby”

Burna may have wowed fans with a key change in 2020, but it was Davido who did it first in 2018. It is the most daring Davido has been vocally as he belts for his life. Sing Davido, Sing!

14. “The Best” (ft. Mayorkun)

Once again, Mayorkun proves himself to be the most viable feature artiste in the country. With a catchy melody and great world play , this feels like a full circle moment for Mayorkun and Davido. Mayorkun says it himself. He learnt from the best, Davido.

13. “Coolest Kid In Africa” (ft. Nasty C)

Rap stans, get in here! The hit single of his experimental EP, “Son Of Mercy”, this trap burner had the guys bopping in the clubs. Nasty C was reliably perfect on this as well.

12. “Tchelete” (ft. Mafikizolo)

It’s 2014, and no group in Africa is hotter than the South African duo, Mafikizolo. Fresh off their hit single, “Khona”, Davido and Mafikizolo made Africa move again, with this one. We definitely see where Davido’s journey in Amapiano started from.

11. “1 Milli”

Another wedding staple, the Adekunle Gold assisted ballad, is one of the most beautiful Davido songs ever. As Davido said, it’s the “Assurance of 2020”, only so much better!
AG might’ve written this, but Davido performs it with disarming honesty. It’s a really beautiful song.

10. “Skelewu”

A lot of artistes jumped on the Shoki trend in 2011, but very few personalized it as well as Davido. Matched with it’s own variant of the Shoki dance, it’s no surprise that it ruled the clubs.

9. “Fem”

The opening trumpets of this song herald the coming of A Better Time. Fueled by its biting lyrics, the Burna feud and its increased popularity in the #ENDSARS protests, the song went on to become arguably the biggest hit of 2020. We stan a hitmaker!

8. “Gobe”

Gobe was one of the early recors that added credence to his hitmaker status. Assisted by a hilarious video, the Afro Pop number, went on to become one of the most successful songs of 2013. An entire bop!

7. “Blow My Mind”

This is definitely Davido’s most effective collaboration. This song is perfection. The beat, verses and Chris Brown’s vocals elevate this song to ART. Everyone came correct on this. Wurld with the pen, Shizzi with the production, and Davido and Chris, with the delivery. An instant classic, by all standards.

6. “If”

If Davido ever had a comeback single, this would be it. The Tekno produced banger brought the popstar back from a relative drought, introducing a new era in the music scene. Quite simply, this song changed the game. Everything about the song and it’s music video oozes class. You should watch out for Davido and his trumpets (“If” and “Fem”). Every time we hear them, it’s time for a new era of hits.

5. “FIA”

One of the most acclaimed songs of his career, it is the most emotional track in Davido’s catalogue. Everyone sings about the “materialistic girlfriend”, but Davido sings with such sadness and sincerity, the song cuts straight through the heart. Every jilted man held this song close. It is simple, bare and absolutely stunning.

4. “Aye”

Davido may have made a lot of standout wedding songs, but none hold a candle to “Aye”. The verses are full of beautiful platitudes, but the chorus takes your breath away. The accompanying music video is one of the most iconic in Nigerian music history. With this song, Davido made the biggest hit of 2014, but also did something more — O.B.O made the soundtrack to millions of lives. We absolutely stan.

3. “Fall”

One of the biggest songs out of the continent this century, its corresponding music video is the most viewed music video of all time by a Nigerian Artiste and the song itself is certified Gold by the RIAA and Music Canada. In a career of full of monster hits, this is the “monster of monsters.”

2. “Dami Duro”

In many ways, this is where it truly began. This solidified the birth of a super star and began his 10 year reign as a certified hitmaker. It’s sizzling beat, fire verses and the iconic line, “Emi Omo Baba Olowo” make this an absolute classic for us.

1. “Like Dat”

Teni penned a banger and Davido delivered an all time club hit. “‘Like Dat’ is my favourite Davido song ever.” – Asa Asika. We agree Asa, we agree!
