The contest is organised by lawyer and entrepreneur Akinyemi Ayinoluwa and powered by Amelia Songs. The competition will see the winner walk home with a cash prize of $1,000 and career consultation with a major label A&R.

The Akinyemilaw Songwriting Contest is an annual song contest whose mission is to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena. It is further designed to nurture the musical talent of songwriters on all levels and promote excellence in the art of songwriting.

Amateur and professional songwriters and musicians from anywhere in the world are invited to participate. Amelia Songs has put together some of the most impressive leaders from the Nigerian music industry to act as the panel of judges for this competition. This edition includes A&Rs from major Nigerian outfits like The Plug, Mavin, and Two Good Heads. For participating songwriters, away from the mouthwatering cash prizes, this edition of the Competition offers exposure and the opportunity to have your songs heard by some of the most influential decision-makers in the music industry today.

Interested participants must head to the website competition.ameliasongsforever.com. Register using the form provided on the website. Then proceed to download an instrumental from the choices available. Afterwards participants must write and record a song over the instrumental and post with lyrics on Instagram using the hashtag #AkinyemiLawSongChallenge in the caption. The deadline for submission is 30th November 2022.

Individuals who want to support the #AkinyemiLawSongChallenge should send a direct message to @akinyemilaw or @ameliasongs.forever via Instagram.
