Samm Henshaw has released a new Afro-Folk Pop song, ‘Jumoke’, featuring lyricism and heartfelt soul. The song, rooted in Nigerian heritage, is a mid-tempo, poetic love song that evokes nostalgia.
The South London-born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist uses a simple narrative of love, encompassing adulation, romance, longing, admiration, and the necessary elements for enduring love.
Henshaw expresses his fears about life without ‘Jumoke’. The music video for ‘Jumoke’ was directed by Timi Akindele-Ajani and Samm Henshaw, who filmed the song at a wedding in exchange for footage.
Henshaw, dedicated his song ‘Jumoke’ to his late Uncle Steve, who inspired him to create songs celebrating Nigerian heritage. The song’s master, which will be owned by his four children, is a celebration of African love and life in his honor.
Born Iniabasi Samuel Henshaw, Henshaw grew up enjoying Gospel, Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B, and has achieved success in music. Henshaw’s debut album, ‘Untidy Soul’, was released last year to critical acclaim, with NPR Music and VIBE featuring it among their Best of 2022. Henshaw is eager to share more new music soon. listen to Jumoke here
